Tired of baseball writers, owners, commissioners, and others controlling the game. the spirit of baseball museum will be a low budget virtual museum that will declare the stats and the heart not the writers determine who is in the hall of fame.

There will be exceptions. there will be characters. But as of right now Bert ,Robbie, Pete, and Shoesless Joe are all in .

I can be contacted at baseballfan1955           @ hotmail.com My name is John Butchko.

I think the person who introduced take me out to the ball game to the 7th inning should be in the hall of fame.  Dempsey Gerrard who was my pee wee league coach is in my hall of fame. So is my uncle Lefty Ray Coleman whose service in WW II ended his potential major league career.Amy Madigan is in for her role as Ray's wife in  Field of Dreams.  I would also include people who wrote great baseball music, you gotta have heart!Tommy john is in. he had a surgery named after him. Steroid users, each of us has to make up our own mind. Obviously the culprit was MLB that closed its eye to the issue. I think Barry still gets in. I am not sure about many others.

One last thing for right now, you get in now, one does not have to wait until they retire. Ken Griffey is in, so are many others.

Baseball is too good to be left to the owners and the writers. Cooperstown is suspect.

Here are the criteria. If you meet one of the criteria, one  receives consideration.  Some are negative criteria such as strikeouts(for a batter) or giving up career home runs. These people have to have done something right in order to have survived long enough to achieve such distinction. But just reaching one level does not get you in. For instance Otis Nixon is currently 16th lifetime in stolen bases. But the rest of his career is rather non-distinguished. Kenny Lofton is 15th. you look at his golden glove, decent lifetime average and he is in.

Criteria for batting:
Batting Average in career top 25 or over .330
1500 runs scored
500 doubles
125 triples post 1950  125 triples previous years
1500 RBI
500 stolen bases
140 Hit by the pitch- Welcome home Ron Hunt
225 groind into double plays current number one is Cal Ripken

Criteria for pitching
ERA under 2.4
Wins 225
Winning percenatge of .620
Saves 250
Home runs allowed 300
Hit Batters 125
walks 1200
Earned Runs 1500
Losses 200

The ten year rule does not prevail.
